Description

You start your walk in the historic center of Groningen. Then you explore the Drenthe landscape. In this region you will find the Drentsche Aa stream system with flowery meadows along the water, large quiet heathlands with sheep and ancient dolmens. Along the way you can take a look at Hunebed G01, Hunebed D03 and Hunebed D04. You will also pass Mill De Helper on the edge of the Paterswoldsemeer. This mill was built in 1863 and in 1971 the mill was moved to its current location. This route is part of the Pieterpad, a long-distance hiking trail (LAW 9) that runs from Pieterburen to the Sint-Pietersberg in Limburg. The path consists of 26 stages that together cover 492 kilometers!
