A little further on is the eighteenth-century Sluishuis, the beautiful former lock keeper's house. You drive a few kilometers along the Zeedijk, a name that remains from the period of the Zuiderzee. On the left is the tamed water of the Nuldernauw, on the right you look out over part of the fourteenth-century Arkemheenpolder, one of the oldest in the Netherlands. In Putten you pass the Het Hert flour mill from 1899. A little later you drive onto the Veluwe. You will pass through the famous Speulderbos, a true experience.
