Your route starts at the Schiphorsterweg near Meppel. In the Reestdal you will immediately see the castle De Havixhorst and the hamlet De Schiphorst. This is a beautiful authentic area to discover. You will also find Huis Voorwijk there, built in 1791. Via Staphorst you drive to Meppel, this city has a rich trading past. From the Stoombootkade you look out over the historic Molen De Vlijt on the other side. Put your bike aside for a moment and sniff around in the center. Get off further on at Landgoed Welgelegen! Take a look at the Blikmuseum: the cans tell the history of industrialization and show the development of advertising.
