A wonderful round of Swalmen

You can take beautiful bike rides around Swalmen in Central Limburg through a varied and natural landscape. You will also pass through historic church villages such as Beesel and Reuver.

Gray Bear
Around Boukoul you drive through a mosaic of nature reserves and grasslands. You will pass Zuidewijk Spick, a castle farm from the seventeenth century. Part of Asselt is a protected villagescape. You will see characteristic nineteenth-century farms and the St. Dionysius Church, located on a church hill, whose tower dates from 1515. On the banks of the Maas you pass the Grauwe Beer, a flour mill that stood in Zaandam from 1614 to 1891.

Old Ronkenstein
In Beesel you will visit Nieuwenbroeck Castle, which dates from 1560. Along the Maas it is wonderful to cycle carefree along grasslands and floodplains. You drive through Ronkenstein, which is a protected village view because of its eighteenth-century appearance. A little later you cycle across the beautiful Prinsendijk, which forms the German-Dutch border. What views!
