A brisk walk across Texel

Do you like a challenging walk? Then walk this beautiful route over the beautiful Wadden island of Texel in one day. You can also split it into two or three parts if you prefer to take it easy.

Texel monuments
On Texel you will find a few streets full of beautiful historic buildings. The Hogereind in De Waal is such a street. In any case, De Waal already has a special history: the village was by the sea until 1613... After the Waalenburg polder was drained, it was located in the middle of Texel. Just outside the village is De Kemphaan, a polder mill from 1934. It was built to provide the bird sanctuary in the Waalenburg polder with water.

The Koog
In De Koog you pass, among other things, the beautiful village church that dates from 1719. Then you walk a few kilometers through the dunes and forests. What a silence you suddenly experience here! A little later you walk past the small airport of Texel. The beautiful sport planes and supply helicopters for the oil rigs are a nice attraction.
