Between Kerkrade and Aachen, you can enjoy a wonderful cycle through a varied hilly landscape. The route starts at a small parking lot in the German part of the Worm Valley. The Worm River originates near Aachen, meanders for a short distance through the Netherlands, and flows into the Roer River in Germany. The river valley is considered a natural gem: it's wonderful to cycle here through damp forests and along grassy meadows. You cycle through the hills to Orsbach, after which you make a short loop through the Netherlands. At Lunchcafe Oud Bocholtz, you can enjoy a leisurely, extensive lunch before cycling back into the German hills. Via Vetschau and Horbach, you reach Herzogenrath. On the east side of this town, you cycle past two small lakes and through the wooded Broichbach valley.
