Description
This route takes you over part of the island of Voorne-Putte in the south of South Holland. You cycle through various villages, along canals and rivers and through the vast polders. Leave your worries behind for a moment while you enjoy this peaceful landscape.
From small village to city
At the beginning of this route you can park your car in a parking lot in the village of Heenvliet. Then it's time to get on your bike. From Heenvliet you cycle to Geervliet and then cycle through the polders to Spijkenisse. Spijkenisse used to be a small dike village. Only when the village was connected to the rest of the Netherlands with bridges and ferries did Spijkenisse start to grow. The place became a growth center and eventually it even became a city. The other towns you cycle through on this route are a lot smaller, such as the village of Simonshaven.

South of Spijkenisse you will find the village of Zuidland. There were already farms on this site in the 13th century.
