The quiet polders in the Alblasserwaard

You can park your car at the parking lot on the edge of Bleskensgraaf. Then get on your bike and cycle through the polders to Brandwijk. The first mill you encounter on this route is the Broekmolen. This mill was built here in 1581 to drain the Streefkerk polder. Between 2010 and 2013, this mill was extensively restored to make the mill operational again. Then you cycle on to Noordeloos via Brandwijk and Goudriaan. A little outside Noordeloos you can sit down at the restaurant of the Maria Johanna Hoeve. Take a break here and enjoy a well-deserved snack and a drink to replenish your energy supply.

Back to Bleskensgraaf
Then you get back on your bike for the second part of the route. You cycle through Hoornaar, Giessenburg and Molenaarsgraaf to Bleskensgraaf. You eventually end up at the point where you started the route. From here you can also follow route 534930 if you want to explore the area further.

Mills in the polders
In addition to the Broekmolen, you will find two more mills on this route. For example, between Brandwijk and Goudriaan you will pass the Achterlandse Molen. This mill dates from the 16th century and served as a polder mill for the Polder Liesveld until 1969. Nowadays the mill serves as a residence. At Molenaarsgraaf you will then pass the Kerkmolen from the 17th century.
