Your route starts at the White Ranch. The polders in the vicinity of Zaandam and Wormermeer are a beautiful area to explore by bike. Enjoy the endless views and all the water around you as you cycle through this vast landscape. You will soon pass a fort from the Defense Line of Amsterdam that was built in 1903: Fort aan den Ham. Here you will find a museum that is regularly open. Fort near Krommeniedijk was used as a fortification between 1897 and 1956. In Krommenie you will see historic buildings such as't Blauwe End, formerly the home of the director of the Linoleum Factories. You drive along the historic Zaandijk to the beautiful old Schermersluis and former cheese warehouse'Archangel\\\'. What a history!

White Ranch is a nice self-service store with organic products and regional products. Via the shop you reach the Rest Point: a skybox above the goat and cow stable! You might even see a lamb being born here. You can make your own cup of coffee or tea in the skybox, which you can also take with you to the picnic tables in the yard. Delicious organic ice creams are also available in the store. There is a FARMER'S MARKET every 2nd Sunday of the month from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM! Near Assendelft, between Beverwijk and Zaandijk.
