Description

The starting point of this walk is in the heart of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug forests. Enjoy the greenery around you as you stroll to the charming town of Rhenen. Stroll through Rhenen's streets and see the water tower along the way. You can see this tower from far away, as the 42.7-meter-high tower is also situated on a hill. From Rhenen, you walk along the Lower Rhine to Grebbeberg. This 52-meter-high hill forms the peak of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Then you continue to Achterberg. Finally, you emerge back into the Utrechtse Heuvelrug forests at Allurepark De Thijmse Berg. Spend the night in a cozy cottage or chalet after your active day of hiking. On the edge of Grebbeberg, you'll find Heimerstein Castle. While the castle is not open to the public, you can admire it from afar.
