Description

The starting point of this walk is in the middle of the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Enjoy all the greenery around you while you walk to the pleasant city of Rhenen. Stroll through the streets of Rhenen and view the water tower along the way. You can see this tower from far and wide, because the 42.7 meter high tower is also located on a hill. From Rhenen you walk along the Lower Rhine to the Grebbeberg. This 52 meter high hill forms the tip of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Then you continue walking to Achterberg. Ultimately you end up in the woods of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug at Allurepark De Thijmse Berg. Spend the night here in a cottage or chalet after your active day on your hiking boots. On the edge of the Grebbeberg you will find Heimerstein Castle. It is not possible to visit the castle, but you can of course admire it from afar.
