Tour of estates around Zeist

Your route starts at Stayokay Utrecht - Bunnik. From here you immediately cycle past Fort Rijnauwen. This fort was built here between 1868 and 1871 as part of the circle of forts around Utrecht. Then you drive straight through the lush forests and heaths of De Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. Via Zeist you cycle to Landgoed Vollenhoven and Landgoed Oostbroek. The Vollenhoven estate was originally owned by the Oostbroek monastery, but in 1651 it was sold to a private individual. Then the estate passed from owner to owner. After 1848, the estate and the manor house, coach house, orangery and other outbuildings have changed little. Many historical elements have therefore been preserved. Landgoed Oostbroek is also centuries old. The current country house on the estate dates from 1887.
