Tour of estates around Zeist

Your route starts at Stayokay Utrecht - Bunnik. From here you immediately cycle past Fort Rijnauwen. This fort was built here between 1868 and 1871 as part of the fortifications around Utrecht. Then you cycle straight through the lush forests and heathlands of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. Via Zeist you cycle to Landgoed Vollenhoven and Landgoed Oostbroek. Landgoed Vollenhoven was originally owned by the Oostbroek monastery, but in 1651 it was sold to a private individual. After that, the estate changed hands. After 1848, the estate and the country house, coach house, orangery and other outbuildings have changed little. Many historical elements have been preserved. Landgoed Oostbroek is also centuries old. The current country house on the estate dates from 1887.
