Description
Your route starts at De Veldpoort Eten en Drinken. Around Buren and Rijswijk you will find a rural area that is perfect for a beautiful bike ride. Enjoy the view of vast agricultural lands, orchards that blossom in the spring and the Lek that meanders through the landscape. In Wijk bij Duurstede you will pass the Molen van Ruysdael, a ruin of a mill from 1555. Jacob van Ruysdael painted the mill. You will see the intersection of the Lek, Nederrijn and Amsterdams Rijnkanaal and a little further on you will discover a spot where you have a beautiful view of Wijk bij Duurstede. Buren is a beautiful place to put your bike aside for a while and soak up the atmosphere. At Beusichem you can take the ferry across the Lek.
