Mook en Middelaar, Limburg, The Netherlands
Hiking route: 533198
Provided by: route.nl
Your route starts at the Dolfijn walking and cycling terrace. Mook is a nice place to walk through. Take your time for the Jacques van Mourik Museum and the St. Antonius Abbot Church! In the thirteenth century, Ambt Mook was sold by the bishop of Aachen to Gerard III of Gelre. Until 1543, Mook was alternately in Gelderland and Kleve hands. The church was damaged during the Eighty Years' War in 1574 and again during the French-Dutch Wars in 1675. The Mookerheide nature reserve is located in the foothills of the Groesbeek landscape. Due to its high location on a moraine, you can enjoy beautiful views. In addition to the natural grazers, you will also encounter badgers, smooth snakes, sand lizards and grass snakes. You walk back along the water of the Mookerplas.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
