Cycling from Geleen to the Maas

This route takes you through the region between Maastricht, Stein, and Brunssum. It consists of two loops, so you can shorten it if necessary. The first loop takes you towards Spaubeek, passing the remains of the centuries-old Sint-Jansgeleen Castle. Then, you cycle through Beek and Elsloo to the Juliana Canal. You follow the course of this canal, ending in the picturesque village of Geulle on the Meuse River. From Bunde, you cycle to Groot Genhout, where the second loop begins. This takes you further into the hills, to Nuth and Schinnen. Along the way, you'll regularly enjoy panoramic views of the fields and meadows.
