Cycling from Geleen to the Maas

This route takes you through the region between Maastricht, Stein and Brunssum. The route consists of 2 loops, so you can shorten it if necessary. The first loop takes you towards Spaubeek, where you pass the remains of the centuries-old Sint-Jansgeleen Castle. You then cycle further via Beek and Elsloo to the Juliana Canal. You follow the course of this canal, so that you end up in the picturesque village of Geulle aan de Maas. From Bunde you cycle to Groot Genhout where the second loop starts. This takes you further into the hills, to Nuth and Schinnen. Along the way you regularly enjoy sweeping views over the fields and fields. The route ends with a delicious meal at Brasserie Abshoven, located in a beautiful old church.
