Description
Your route starts at Camperplaats & Dairy Farm De Grote Leigraaf. This tour takes you through the IJssel Valley near Wilp. A beautiful setting for a relaxing bike ride, full of natural beauty and cultural history. Bussloo Lake was created by sand excavation for the construction of the A1 motorway. Then, the IJssel Valley awaits you with its car-free dikes, leafy lanes, fields, and historic farms. Get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the beautiful scenery. You'll ride along the IJssel River for a while. Near junction 37, you can cross over to the originally medieval Nijenbeek Castle. Commissioned by Charles III of Guelders, the castle was intended to control shipping on the IJssel. On the return journey, you'll cycle through the Appense Bos, a wonderfully tranquil nature reserve near Klarenbeek.
