Cycling route: 530874
Provided by: route.nl
The first few kilometres will loosen your legs, while you look out over the water of the Western Scheldt. Then you turn south, so that you enter a landscape of vast grasslands and creeks. Here you will discover a refreshing peace and characteristic villages. For example, you will pass through the hamlet of Oude Stoof, a name that refers to the madder stove that used to be here. Further on you will pass through Hengstdijk and Schapenbout. In Spui you will pass the Eben Haëzer, a corn mill from 1807. There is also a beautiful corn mill in Hoek: the Windlust dates from 1856. The route then takes you through Paradijs, after which you cross the canal from Ghent to Terneuzen. After a delicious lunch at Taste Churchill you can cycle back to the car park at your leisure.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
