Boxtel, North Brabant, The Netherlands

Your route starts at De Koekenbakker. Between Boxtel and Oisterwijk you will find the beautiful Kampina nature reserve. This area of approximately 1200 hectares consists of heathlands, grasslands, dense forests, stream valleys and small fens. Nowadays you can walk leisurely along the Brandven, but in the past it was sometimes stressful here: the water from this fen was used to extinguish fires. This route leads you through a varied landscape. Further on you cross the Kleine Aa, which was canalized in 1949. You can clearly see that the stream has deeply cut into the cover sand ridges. Looking north you look out over the area where the Kleine Aa can meander again. Fish ladders have even been constructed so that fish can migrate between the Esschestroom and the Beerze.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
