Cycling along the Kinderdijk Mills

First you will loosen up your legs, while cycling along the river De Alblas. Further on you will cycle a bit through Alblasserdam, after which you can admire the Kinderdijkse Molens: a mill run that enjoys worldwide fame. The nineteen mills were built in the eighteenth century to improve the drainage of the Alblasserwaard. Since 1997 the mills have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the picturesque Kinderdijk you will cross the Lek by ferry. You will make a round through Krimpen aan de Lek and the surrounding polder. Cycling over the dikes you will have a beautiful view of the old slag landscape. You will cross the water again, this time for a ride through Ridderkerk. Finally you will cycle through Oud-Alblas. The route ends at Vertoeven bij Verhoeven.
