Unique heritage
The Kinderdijkse Mills are nineteen polder mills that were built in the eighteenth century to improve the drainage of the Alblasserwaard. The mills have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997. No matter how many times you see them, they remain just as impressive. You can enjoy this typical Dutch view at your leisure, because there are no cars around this area.

It is wonderful to cycle in the Alblasserwaard. From the many dikes you have beautiful views over the meadows, canals and rivers and ditches. In addition to mills, you will also see beautiful old farms and monumental churches in this region.
