The Weldadig Rondje (Welfare Loop) takes you to Frederiksoord, Wilhelminaoord, and Willemsoord. These Colonies of Benevolence (UNESCO World Heritage Sites) form a unique area with numerous monuments and a unique and characteristic landscape—right between three magnificent National Parks: the Drents-Friese Wold, Weerribben-Wieden, and the Dwingelderveld. Follow in the footsteps of the first settlers who built a new life here 200 years ago. You'll see the colony houses, Huis Westerbeek, the colony church, the Koning Willem II farm, and the basketry. You'll also discover the De Eese Estate, another gem. The Weldadig Rondje (Welfare Loop) starts at the Proefkolonie museum in Frederiksoord. Ample parking is available. Bicycles can be rented at the adjacent Fietstransferium (Bicycle Transfer). This route is signposted in both directions with the green "Weldadig Rondje" sign.
