Description

Introduction:

This route has been specially composed on the occasion of the wedding of Arjen and Marjolein. The route goes straight through the Almere nature and starts with Marjolein's parents and ends with friends Amerensia and Mark.

Nevertheless, it is a beautiful route that will provide a lot of cycling pleasure for any visitor to Almere.

Itinerary information:

After a short walk along the canals and through parks of Almere, you will first arrive at the Noorderplassen where many bird species can be admired. Many beavers are also active here, which can be admired at dusk, during the day their gnawing marks are clearly visible. You continue the route along the Markermeer, where in clear weather you can see Amsterdam, but also Marken and Volendam on the other side. From node 67 you continue the road over a dike along \\\"the new Wildernis\\\". Here you can also see large grazers, Koninck horses, red deer, Heck cattle and many types of birds. Even the Osprey breed here. For information and a snack you can go to the Oostvaarder at junction 97. You continue your way through the Kotterbos to cross from there along the Lage Vaart to the real Flevoland countryside with livestock and arable farming. Gradually you will come a little more into the built-up area of Almere and also past the newest castle ruin in the world (near junction 84). A winding path through the Circle Forest leads to the cycle path to the Gooimeerdijk. At junction 85 you can decide to turn left and visit the Stadslandgoed de Kemphaan. A lively farmers market is held here on Saturdays. However, the route continues from junction 84 towards the Gooimeerdijk through the villa park de Velden. on the Gooimeerdijk you have a beautiful view of Huizen and the Stichtse Brug. At junction 92 you leave the dike again and go through the swing gate down into the woods.

From junction 90 you continue cycling along the Vogelweg. At the entrance to Almere Hout (Nachtegaallaan), cross the Vogelweg. Where the Bospad makes a bend, you will see EcoParkhof on your left. Amerensia and Mark live on Norbert Eliasweg no. 34. (In time, a bicycle rest point will be set up here. For now, it is always worth a try to ring the doorbell and who knows, we may be home :)
