Just past Austerlitz you can take a trip to the famous Pyramid of Austerlitz. A little later you drive along the Leusderheide to the old estate Den Treek. Once there was a farm from 1337 here. In 1807 Huize Den Treek was converted into a real country estate by the new owner. The route passes Woudschoten Hotel & Conference Centre for a nice lunch or a cup of coffee. Tip: turn right at junction 2 for the Pyramid of Austerlitz, you have a beautiful view from the top. This pyramid, built in 1804 by the French army, is a tribute to Napoleon Bonaparte. Just like the name of the nearby village: Austerlitz was also a former Czech town where Napoleon won an important battle in 1805.
