Cycling through nature on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

From Veenendaal you can take a cycle tour through the beautiful nature of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Here you will find plenty of variety between coniferous and deciduous forests and heathlands. You drive through the Hoge Ginkel, one of the quietest forests in this region. You can relax here wonderfully. Just past Maarn you cycle via Boswachterij Austerlitz to Groot Heidestein. This former estate still contains some of the heathlands that dominated the Utrechtse Heuvelrug more than a hundred years ago. A little later you descend to the Kromme Rijn region. Here you will find a characteristic landscape of long, narrow plots. You will also see some old country houses. You ride through the picturesque surroundings of the medieval Amerongen Castle, after which you get off in Veenendaal at Bike Totaal Van Wijk Fietsen.
