Cycling through nature on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

From Veenendaal you will cycle through the beautiful nature of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Here you will find plenty of variety between coniferous and deciduous forests and heathlands. You will cycle through the Hoge Ginkel, one of the quietest forests in this region. You will be able to relax here. Just past Maarn you will cycle via Boswachterij Austerlitz to Groot Heidestein. On this former estate you will still find some of the heathlands that dominated the Utrechtse Heuvelrug over a hundred years ago. A little later you will descend to the Kromme Rijnstreek. Here you will find a characteristic landscape of long narrow plots. You will also see some old country houses. You will cycle through the picturesque surroundings of the medieval Amerongen Castle, after which you will get off in Veenendaal at Bike Totaal Van Wijk Fietsen.
