Enjoying a round of Goeree

From the Brouwersdam you drive straight onto Goeree-Overflakkee. First you cycle through the Visschershoek, you see a mix of dunes and farmland here. This area is named after a farm that has been here since 1675. On the horizon you can see the Lighthouse Westhoofd. This national monument from 1950 is 52 meters high. Further on you cycle through the Dunes of Goeree, another wonderfully quiet area. Just before junction 59 you cycle along the Koudenhoek, an unspoilt strip of nature consisting of bird-rich meadows and creeks. On the right is the Schans, a former military fortress from 1665. The route leads you further along the Grevelingenmeer, after which you drive back onto the Brouwersdam. Get a breath of fresh air before you park your bike at Strandpaviljoen Brouw and grab a drink on a terrace.
