Cycling along the water in De Alde Feanen National Park

The starting point of this route is at Princenhof, Hotel & Restaurant. If you love nature, you can indulge yourself in this water-rich area. Along the way you cycle past all kinds of ponds where birds like to perch. Around the town of Grou you cycle past no fewer than three windmills. The first mill you encounter is the De Burd mill from the eighteenth century. The mill was used to drain the De Burd polder. Then you pass De Borgmolen from 1895. This mill drained the polder until 1954, when an electric pumping station was installed. The last mill on the route is the Grou mill, a polder mill from 2001. Tip: ferries sail at different times during the seasons. We advise you to consult the internet before departure for the current sailing times!
