Cycling along the Veerse Meer

This route takes you for a wonderful day in Zeeland. You drive across Walcheren and North and South Beveland. There are several historic villages and beautiful nature along the route.

Fortified town of Veere
Veere is one of the most beautiful fortified towns in the Netherlands. Take the time to view this historic Zeeland gem at your leisure. For example, you can admire the Grote Kerk from 1348. The town hall with its beautiful facade dates from the fifteenth century. The Scottish Houses Museum is located on the quay and is housed in two sixteenth-century monuments. The Campveerse Toren dates back to 1500.

Kamperland
Kamperland was founded around the year 1000. During the infamous All Saints Flood of 1532, the old village, like all of North Beveland, disappeared under water. It took more than sixty years before people dared to reclaim the island bit by bit. Kamperland was also rebuilt. You can visit the Zeeuws Planetarium here, among other things.
