Description
The village of Glimmen is surrounded by beautiful forests. This walking tour introduces you to this green area with swamps, fens, sand drifts and old dolmens. Enjoy the beautiful nature and relax. The starting point of this hike is in the middle of the Appelbergen. This is a former military training area. Nowadays, this area is no longer used by the army, so you can enjoy a nice walk through this forest with remnants of heath and peat. De Hoge Hereweg runs straight through the forest. At the end of the route you arrive at Paviljoen Appelbergen. At this pancake house you can of course enjoy a delicious pancake, but also another tasty snack or a cup of coffee. Settle down at the pavilion and relax in the middle of the woods.
