Cycling through the Reitdiep area of Groningen

As soon as you cycle out of Winsum, you'll experience the endless vistas and tranquility you associate with Groningen. This region has never known peat extraction or industrialization. Over 25 centuries of habitation and struggle against the water have created a beautiful landscape here. You'll cycle for a few kilometers along the Reitdiep canal. In Groningen, you'll cycle through the Noorderplantsoen park. The adjacent Korreweg is one of the most beautiful streets in Groningen to cycle through. Plenty of time? Then take a trip into Groningen city center. At the Vismarkt, you'll see, among other things, the Korenbeurs (Corn Exchange). This building is among the top 100 Dutch UNESCO monuments. At the edge of the city, you'll discover the Wilhelmina, a grain mill from 1907. The route ends at Marenland Recreation Center, where you can relax after your ride with a snack and a drink.
