Your route starts at Cafe Restaurant De Wildse Hut. First you walk a good distance along the banks of the Maas. From the dike you can enjoy beautiful views over the water and the flowery floodplains. At the hamlet of Gewande you will find the museum pumping station Caners, which is regularly open at the weekend. It was in service from 1933 to 1979 and you can still admire two authentic machines there, among other things. You will learn everything about the history of the water board here. You walk back over the Krommenhoek, the winding dike that follows the course of the river. Farms and green meadows on one side, the mighty Maas on the other: what a wonderful place to blow away the cobwebs!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
