Description
This route consists of 2 parts because route.nl does not count the ferry service properly.
- Part 1 (route number 516624) goes 16.5 km along the waterway to Hoek van Holland. There you take the ferry to the second Maasvlakte (opposite the Torpedoloods at the harbour). If you are lucky you will not only see the towering sea container ships along the way, but also seals.
- When you arrive at the Maasvlakte, follow part 2 (route number 516661) for 50 km via Oostvoorne, Rockanje, Brielle and the Rozenburg ferry back to Maasland.
Check the times / timetables of the ferry services before departure. The ferry from Hoek van Holland to the Maasvlakte runs once an hour. If you have to wait, the Torpedoloods is a great place. The ferry between Rozenburg and Maassluis runs more often, but waiting is less pleasant.
