Your route starts at Plaats De Kleine Aarde, an inspiring place where you can learn more about the importance of nature. Along the edge of the Kampina you cycle to Kasteel Nemerlaer, from the 14th century. It is named after the river Amer and Laer. Further on you cycle into the Loonse en Drunense Dunes. This sandy plain surrounded by forests is home to many different animal and plant species that can withstand large differences in heat and cold. Not for nothing a national park! You will also discover the special landscape on the southern edge of the park, near the river Zandleij. This is De Brand, a small-scale and humid landscape with ancient forests and small flowery meadows. You cycle back via the old hamlet of Giersbergen.
