South of Tilburg, it is wonderful to walk in the vast nature that lies on the border with Belgium. First, you walk into the Halve Maan nature reserve. Here, mainly Corsican pines, American oaks and European larches grow. You also pass the fen to which this nature reserve owes its name. Further on, you walk across the Regte Heide. Here you can enjoy views over the heath and the unprecedented silence. Just before junction 1, you see several centuries-old burial mounds on the left, they are provided with a wreath of poles. You cross the Leij, from the path you have a beautiful view of the stream valley Het Riels Laag. You make a shortcut through the Riels Hoefke, a former drifting sand area. Through the Halve Maan you walk back to Klooster Nieuwkerk.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
