Bicycle route Valkenburg, Gulpen and Margraten

From Vilt, you descend to Valkenburg in no time. On the outskirts of this village, you pass Den Halder Castle. Further along, there are plenty of monumental buildings to see, such as the 13th-century Old Church and the Geulpoort, rebuilt in 2014. In the Geul Valley, you pass Oost Castle and Genhoes Castle. Via Etenaken, you cycle on to Wijlre, where a castle dating from 1625 stands on the edge of the village. Next, you begin a short climb that takes you to Gulpen and Margraten, the village home to, among other things, the St. Margaret's Church with its 14th-century tower. In Gasthuis en Terblijt, you can see a number of monumental Limburg farmhouses.
