Cycling route Leimuiden and Lisse

From Leimuiden you will make a cycling tour full of variety. First you cycle through the polders to Roelofarendsveen. Here you have a beautiful view over the Braassemermeer. Just before Rijpwetering you pass the Lijkermolen 1 and 2. They are the only twelve-sided mills in the Netherlands. They were used to drain the Veender- and Lijkerpolder, a job that was completed in 1784. In Warmond you can admire several beautiful monumental buildings. You also cycle past the park forest of Huys te Warmont, an estate whose history goes back to the Middle Ages. In Lisse you can see, among other things, the monumental Sint Agathakerk from 1903. On the edge of Nieuw-Vennep you cycle through the Venneperhout. This area used to be water, then arable land and now polder forest. The route ends at Prik & Proost.
