The project'Along pilgrimage routes to Scherpenheuvel\\\' aims to make the network of centuries-old pilgrimage routes to Scherpenheuvel recognizable again. Based on a participation process in various municipalities, we reconstructed the old pilgrimage routes together with the population. Discover the route from Attenhoven (Landen) here! Did you know that the pilgrimage committee of Attenhoven is the oldest existing pilgrimage committee? Since 1631, they have been going on an annual pilgrimage to Scherpenheuvel. This tradition arose because the village was hit by a plague epidemic that year. It was so bad that a quarter of the then population died. You start at Brasserie De Rietgors and then pass the Sint-Pieters-Bandenkerk, the traditional starting point of the pilgrimage.
