Your route starts at Recreation Center Adelhof. You will make a beautiful round through and around Frederiksoord, one of the peat colonies that were founded by the Society of Benevolence. All these villages have now been declared World Heritage and not without reason! Each and every one of them is a beautiful place to get a taste of the atmosphere. Be sure to visit Museum De Proefkolonie, where you can learn more about this special history. The Westerbeeck country estate a little further on was built in the 17th century. The Society of Benevolence has owned the country house since 1818. The estate is freely accessible and wonderful to walk through. You walk back along a fen, the former ice rink of Vledder: Lodewijk (Lodewiek). The name comes from the farmer who lived nearby, Nicolaas Lodewijk Fucken.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
