Your route starts at the Adelhof Recreation Center. You'll take a scenic loop through Wilhelminaoord and Frederiksoord, founded by the Maatschappij van Weldadigheid (Society of Benevolence). They have now been declared World Heritage Sites, beautiful places to soak up the atmosphere. Be sure to visit Museum De Proefkolonie! A large part of the De Eese estate is privately owned. On the estate lies an old castle, probably built at the beginning of the seventeenth century. An old manor house and a large barn stand like silent sentinels at the castle. A small section of De Eese, the Eeserveld, is maintained by the Dutch Forestry Commission. Here you'll mainly see many forests, which enclose the burial mounds in this part of De Eese. At a heathland, the trees part to offer a beautiful view.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
