Tour of Harderwijk and beaches

The route starts at Bungalowpark Het Verscholen Dorp. In Harderwijk you will see many old city buildings in the Donkerstraat, such as the Linnaeustorentje from the sixteenth century and various eighteenth-century mansions. The most important monument of Harderwijk is the Grote Kerk on the Kerkplein. The Mariakapel from the fourteenth century was enlarged in 1415. Later it grew into a monumental church, with a seventy-meter high tower. The Vanghentoren owes its name to the city prison that was located here for a long time. Before that, the tower was part of the Burg, the city castle of the Count of Gelre in Harderwijk. Nowadays, only the street names Blokhuissteeg and Burgtstraat remind us of the old count's castle. You walk back along the beaches of Harderwijk. Holiday feeling at its best!
