Cycling route: 5065790
Provided by: route.nl
Your route starts at Polderflora Camping. You'll cycle through Alphen aan den Rijn and pick up the beautifully winding Oude Rijn river with its charming dikes and windmills. You'll pass Mill 3, or the Bovenmolen (Upper Mill), dating from 1823. This is part of the only remaining four-mill system in the world: the Aarlanderveen is not maintained remotely, but by a real water level miller. Near Zwammerdam, you'll see the Dikke Molen (Fat Mill), a polder mill dating from 1674, standing on the Oude Rijn. The Arkduif (Ark Dove) is a grain mill in Bodegraven, dating from 1697. Put your bike aside for a moment to explore Bodegraven – the Bodegraven Cheese Museum is a great place to stop by! You'll cycle back through Alphen aan den Rijn.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
