Today you will make a beautiful round along Harderwijk and Zwaluwenburg. The route starts at Bungalowpark Het Verscholen Dorp. In the Hanseatic city of Harderwijk you will follow a cycle path along the Wolderwijd lake to the renovated Strandboulevard. At junction 82 you can put your bike aside to explore the Strandeiland. The Vispoort is a reference to the fishing that many people in Harderwijk used to make a living from. Two years after the disastrous flood of 1916, the closing off and reclamation of the Zuiderzee was started, which created the province of Flevoland. Via De Essenburgh you cycle to Zwaluwenburg castle. On the way back you will pass through the Beekhuizerzand, a slightly undulating drifting sand area. Especially on sunny days, the dried-up, almost golden sand landscape seems to be on another planet.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
