Tour of Weerterbossen and De Krang

Your route starts in Ell. This round takes you through the nice towns of Weert and Nederweert, along nature and culture. For example, you will pass through the Krang, where you will see deciduous and coniferous forests, coppice and old bolakkers. You will also pass through the Weerterbos, a beautiful nature reserve. It is one of the few natural forests in this region. Take a break at the lookout tower where you can spot red deer. Near this lookout tower you will pass the monument for the former border church, which stood here in the forest from 1648 to 1712. Nederweert was separated from Weert in the fourteenth century. There is a nice atmosphere around the Sint-Lambertus church. In the hamlet of Schoor you will see beautiful historic farms. Take a break along the way at De Beren Nederweert!
