Tour of Weert and the De Pelen Outdoor Centre

Your route starts at De Beren Nederweert, a lovely spot for a bite to eat or a drink before setting off. You'll cycle through the countryside around Nederweert to De Pelen Outdoor Centre. Here, you'll find all the information about De Groote Peel National Park, presented in a beautiful ecological visitor center. Stop for a short walk! A little further on, you can stop at the Limburg Open Air Museum Eynderhoof. You'll continue along the Moeselpeel, a marshland with willow swamps and reed beds that you can see beautifully from the country lanes. In Weert, you'll see a medieval hall church, and the centuries-old town hall opposite now houses the charming Museum W. A little further on, on the Biest river, you'll see Aldeborch, a medieval castle that the Franciscans later converted into a monastery. Nijenborgh Castle was destroyed in 1702; a manor house was later built on its foundations.
