Tour of De Dellen and Heerderstrand

Your route starts at Boerderij Buitengewoon. Landgoed Tongeren is one of the largest private estates in the Netherlands. It still has an old, small-scale cultural landscape that has been beautifully preserved. A little further on you will pass the Majuba nature reserve, named by a previous owner after a mountain in South Africa. It is part of the free game trail. De Dellen near Epe is an estate from the 19th century that owes its fame mainly to the famous meteorologist Buys Ballot. He transformed the vast heathlands into a park-like estate with a variety of forests, lanes and heathlands. In 1929, the estate was the first purchase of the newly established Geldersch Landschap.
