Cycling route over the Lemelerberg 51 km

Set off on this varied cycle route through the Vechtdal. While looking out over the Overijsselse Vecht you will encounter almost all Dutch landscapes along the way.

The landscape of the Lemelerberg nature reserve is very diverse. The soil of the Lemelerberg used to be a dry nature reserve, which is why it was not cultivated by farmers. The sheep were allowed to graze on the heath, which caused the heath to be eaten bare in some places and created sand plains. To prevent these sand plains from drifting, conifers were planted and this created a very diverse nature reserve.

With a variety of heathlands and villages you would almost wonder where you are. With the special estates, the river and the views along the route with old farms, villages and of course beautiful sights you would almost forget that you are cycling in the Netherlands...

This is a beautiful route to cycle. Sufficient rest points and beautiful views. Diversity of cycle paths. The Vecht flows quickly.
