Swiggelte, Hooghalen
Zwiggelte is a real esdorp. Esdorpen have a brink, an originally common field, a stream or river and between the brink and the farms runs the sheep drive. Here the sheep could walk from the brink to the fields. During this cycle route you cycle through the nature reserve Groote Zand Hooghalen, with coniferous forest, raised bog and heath. You also cycle past the Herinneringscentrum Kamp Westerbork and through Boswachterij Grollo. Lots of nature and a bit of history!
