Sneek, Terherne, Goingarijp
As the name suggests, this route takes you around the Sneekermeer. This vast lake offers spectacular views of the water, lined with reed beds and colourful flower fields. Breathe in the fresh air as you cycle along the lake and enjoy the soothing sound of birdsong.
On the way you will pass the cozy village of Terherne, known as the Kameleondorp, which is inspired by the famous children's book series. Make a stop and discover the adventures of Hielke and Sietse Klinkhamer, the heroes from the books of The Kameleon.
In addition to the nice Frisian villages that you cross, you also come through the green Nature area Potschar and Groene dijk. In recent years, nature has fully returned here by protecting it. You can read all about this on the various information boards that you encounter.
Water, greenery and villages barely the size of a street alternate during this surprising route around the Sneekermeer.
