The route virtually encircles Lelystad. So you will definitely see some of this city, but this cycle route has much more to offer. For example, you cycle along the north-eastern side of the Oostvaardersplassen. A beautiful nature reserve that is definitely worth coming back for and going for a walk, because you cannot cycle through this nature reserve. The route also takes you through the Lelystad Nature Park. Have you ever cycled straight through a zoo before? You can do that here. Bison, beavers and bathing Father David's deer; wild boars, water birds and wisents: you can encounter them all. You will also get to know the polder landscape between Lelystad and Swifterbant. Of course, a section along the IJsselmeer cannot be missed on this route.
