Your route starts at Tuincentrum Schmitz. National Park de Meinweg is located near the German border. This somewhat un-Dutch nature reserve is known for its unique terraced landscape. These terraces were created over tens of thousands of years by erosion of the Meuse and fault lines in the earth's crust. You walk through dense old forests and stream valleys, but there are also beautiful fens to be found. You will soon pass a lookout tower that offers you a good overview of the area. When you walk out of the forest you will pass the edge of the village of Etsberg. You walk back to your starting point through a water-rich area of numerous streams such as the Schuttecampsgraaf. A beautiful varied route, which introduces you to the different faces of the Roerdalen region!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
