Meinweg and border area tour

Your route starts at Tuincentrum Schmitz. Herkenbosch is a picturesque village in Central Limburg. In the countryside you will find plenty of natural beauty and historical sights. You will ride this tour through the Roerdalen region: a slightly undulating region where the landscape consists of a mix of fields, grasslands, stream valleys and forests. National Park de Meinweg is known for its unique terraced landscape. These terraces were created over tens of thousands of years by the erosion of the Meuse and three fault lines in the earth's crust. You cycle through dense old forests and stream valleys here. Sometimes on an asphalt road, but also on a cycle path. In the middle of National Park de Meinweg you will pass Vlodrop-Station, a hamlet that was once located on the Iron Rhine, the former railway between Antwerp and Monchengladbach.
