Cycling through South Beveland

This cycling route is ideal if you'd like to combine a day in the polder with exploring historic villages. First, you'll cycle to Kruiningen. Here you'll see the Old Mill from 1801, and a little later you'll cycle through the charming Market Square. Just outside the village, you can enjoy the view of the Western Scheldt, after which you'll cross the Canal through Zuid-Beveland. Originally Napoleon's idea, this canal wasn't completed until 1866. Around Kwadendamme, you'll cycle through a landscape of meadows, flower-filled dikes, springs, and creeks. Nisse is a protected village due to its many beautiful monuments. The tower of the centuries-old Reformed Church can be seen from afar. In Kapelle, you'll also see many beautiful old buildings. The route ends at Den Inkel Country Estate.
